PHOENIX PUBLIC COURSES

Aguila Golf course is Phoenix's newest golf course has two unique courses that offer fascinating challenges to golfers. One course is a 9 hole, Par 3 challenge and the other course is an 18-hole championship challenge. Be sure to visit the Pro shop for all of your golfing apparel and equipment needs. A variety of golf tournaments are played at Aguila Golf course. Golf instruction is taught to youths at "no charge" through the Aguila Youth Center which has a library and uses technology such as computers and hi-depth videos for golf instruction and learning. Cap your day off with something from the grill menu at the Eagle's Nest Café-open for service on the same operational schedule as the golf course.

One of the more popular golf courses in Phoenix is the Cave Creek Golf Course. The planners behind Cave Creek Golf Course are renowned as environmentally-conscious leaders because the site on which the golf course is built was previously a landfill. The success of this golf course "champions" the importance of conservation while highlighting that lands once thought to no longer have viable use can be recycled and enjoyed in a variety of ways. This golf course is open every day of the year from early morning until the sun goes down. Cave Creek has a restaurant concession should you get hungry while playing some exciting golf and a pro shop featuring the golf accessories you need for an enjoyable golf outing.

The third eldest of the golf courses in Phoenix is the Encanto 18 Golf Course. Encanto Golf Course is super-friendly to not-quite-pro golfers with wide fairways and not too many or too difficult of hazards to play through. This golf course does feature a full-service pro shop for all of your golfing needs. Tournament play and golf instruction for children is also available at Encanto 18.

Due west of Encanto Park is Encanto 9, a 9 hole course that is just perfect for a fast game of golf. The whole course can be played in just an hour and a half or so. Reservations aren't necessary at Encanto 9 as tee times are awarded on a first come basis.

Maryvale Golf Course with its championship level course offers challenging golf to all levels of players. This golf course is also noted for having "instructed" many professionals of the golfing industry through its golf school. Golf lessons for children aged 8 to 17 are available at Maryvale Golf Course.

Papago Golf Course rounds out the city of Phoenix's 18 hole municipal golf courses. Qualifying for the Phoenix Open occurs here at Papago Golf Course. Youths can register to attend classes on golf instruction. Papago Golf Course holds many tournaments throughout the season. It is recommended that reservations be made well in advance to this very popular golf course.

Palo Verde Golf Course is a 9 hole, Par 30 course. Booking for tee times are accepted a week in advance of expected visit to the golf course. Palo Verde is unique in that it has a lighted driving range for late evening golfing.

There are a number of golf courses outside the city limits of Phoenix, and each offers golfers of all skill levels the opportunity to experience exhilarating rounds of golf.
